Here’s a group text message conversation that took place on 3jam

It was 7pm on a Tuesday in San Francisco and I wanted to catch up with a few friends…

I was picking up dinner at Whole Foods and in the checkout line, Jeff was coming back from a run in the Marina (his Treo serves as his MP3 player and heart rate monitor…and yes it’s ridiculous to get text messages from someone who is jogging), Rich was riding home on the bus (you get really dirty looks from people when you use your phone on public transportation) and Larry was spinning a DJ set at BluPointe (too loud for phone calls…but text messaging is perfect every now and then between records).

Here’s the conversation:

From Andy: Slow Tuesday beer in the Marina around 9.30?
From Jeff: I’m game. Back home by 11 tho
From Andy: Cool. Meet at your place? Larry, you in?
From Larry:  Need to order food but will try
From Andy: We could meet at ten if that’s easier
From Jeff: That works for me.
From Larry: Yep
From Andy: Ok. Where should we meet?
From Jeff: U can swing by earlier for a full throttle and then we can meet Larry at Balboa
From Andy: I like it. Will head to your place. What’s your new address again?
From Rich: I’m in also. See you guys at Balboa
From Jeff: 1234 Bay Street #1
From Andy: Cool. See you later
